Planning a beach wedding may be one of the most romantic challenges in a life time; great scenery, natural decorations, originality and non-conformism of the location are among the main features of such an event. But what are the exact particularities of planning a beach wedding in Ibiza? What are you up against in an exotic location? A sure fact is that you'll probably need some expert advice for planning a beach wedding since there are special considerations to be analyzed. Even the choice of the wedding dress and the shoes is closely related to the location.
None of these is easy and on top of it you have quite some large costs to deal with; therefore try to include everything on your top priority list of planning a beach wedding. The best way to have the ceremonial performed is under a wedding arch dripping with fresh season flowers that will focus the attention on the bride and the groom. The decorations of the arch have to be done the day before the wedding or early that very morning so that they remain fresh. Many of the couples who are planning a beach wedding choose an exquisite moment for the ceremonial, such as the sunset.
Moreover, when planning a beach wedding, don't even consider placing chairs directly on sand, since they will sink, thus being highly uncomfortable for your guests. For more details on planning a wedding have a look at Ibiza Weddings to discover the secrets for a perfect day.

TOP 5 Diving Spots on Ibiza
EAST COAST TOP 5 Diving Spots
DON PEDRO: A must dive for all certified divers with at least the Advanced Open Water certification. This monster of the deep is recognised as one of the biggest wrecks in Europe. At a maximum depth of 38 metres this dive will rock your world. Deep, big and full of life what more could you want.
FISH FACTORY: By far the best dive in Ibiza for fish life and water clarity has to be the Fish Factory or La Mariana in Formentera. This dive is deep but the water is so clear and full of Barracuda in numbers that is hard to fathom. A maximum depth of 33 metres this sunken platform has been on the top dive list of Ibiza for years and guarantees happiness from all that dive it.
DADO PEQUEÑO: This island may be small but the amount or diversity you can find on it is mind blowing. Apart from schools of hunting barracudas you will find here large shoals of damsel fish and Amberjacks which can grow up to about 80cm. Dado Pequeño maxs out around 30 metres like most of the island dives and has areas for every level of divers to enjoy.
LLADO SUR: Like most of the islands dotted around Ibiza it is exposed to the elements and on a good day can be a dive that will blow your socks off. With a swim through from one side of the island to the other this dive has it all. When conditions are right it is best to dive here in the mornings to get there before the crowd. It is common to have 3 or 4 dive schools fighting for the best mooring spot on any given day.
THE CATHEDRAL: This dive located at the mouth of Cala Llonga bay is both easy and spectacular. A huge cavern opens up after swimming through the mouth of this cave at 12 metres. Slowly surface inside the cave and you will find a huge air pocket with clean air and stalactites. The dive doesn't finish there if you want you can go around the Pulpit and into the Chapel. This part of the dive is only for divers with a good level and a torch is recommended to see the Cathedral in all its heavenly glory.
Like all dives in Ibiza you have to plan your dives with the wind and sea conditions in mind. Very rarely do you find currents because there is no tide in the Mediterranean but it is advised to dive with a dive centre that can organise dives depending on your level.

History of Ibiza
Thanks to the global news networks and their educational style of presentation there must be few who need an explication of the workings of the tectonic plaques which make up the earth's crust. In the same way it should not be necessary to give detailed explanations of the fact that the fault lines where these plates meet and exert tremendous forces are where the molten mass of the earth's core breaks out as volcanoes. Neither is it arcane knowledge that this same pressure along fault lines causes one plate to slide up over another or both to push upwards against each other, so forming hills and mountains. Should this process occur upon the sea-bed the tip of the mountain will appear above water as an island. Often both volcanic and upward pressure forcing occur together in the formation of such islands. Until recently the volcanic folding, which is particularly visible along the Santa Eulalia cliffs opposite the island of 'Tagomago' right along to the beach of Cala San Vicente, was ignored or explained away as conglomerate stratus forced into the undulating forms by lateral pressure when pushed up from ancient sea-beds in a malleable state. However, in the last decade a survey for the laying of a gas pipeline from the peninsular to Ibiza upset the academic status quo by revealing a large dormant volcano only 40 kilometers from the coast of San Antonio.
Another folkloric myth that could often be hear cited as scientific fact some thirty to forty years ago when the author arrived in Ibiza was that the Balearic islands were an extension of the Pyrenees mountain chain, including the myth of certain springs as arriving along the rock stratification's from these high mountains in the manner of subterranean aqueducts. The need to know just what is below a city and more so in the planning of a new one, gave rise to national surveys to discover just where the fault lines lay. The new science sprang from the destruction of San Francisco and the realization that it was built upon the vast system of fractures collectively known as the San Andres fault. In Spain such research in the 1970s revealed the extent of the Guadalquivir fault system, which is now known to run from just below Cadiz to the coast of Alicante and on into the sea embracing the Balearic islands. The cause of the mild earthquakes felt on the island every few years. Here the African plate meets the European and the elevation of our island is, therefore, part of the slow and vast process which gave rise to the Alps of southern Europe. However, the island building process did not occur in one dramatic geological incident. Rather, fossils in the various stratum which constructed the island indicate that no less than seven upheavals have occurred during the geological ages from the Triassic to the Miocene, with the islands only becoming separate entities during the Pliocene, each event piling another sedimentary layer upon the last. Moreover, all of these layers have been fractured and tilted by later earthquakes and volcanic activity so that the island resembles a seven layer cake that has been jumped upon and kicked from side to side. It is therefore vital to know these seemingly boring facts when contemplating building or drilling for water. The fact that a neighbor dug down to an even strata of hard calcite rock (the grey 'roca viva' or limestone) upon which to lay the foundations of his house in no way implies that this happy accident continues to the spot some three hundred meters away where you intend to build, even though the surface is now flattened by erosion. Sonic surveys and boreholes are vital on this island before buying building land in isolated spots. Previously to such services becoming available in the last twenty years it was all a matter of dousing and asking the areas eldest inhabitants of past disasters. One prime example being the fact that the church near the cliffs of 'Es Cubells' was built half upon a solid rock strata and half upon the loose clay and rock amalgam of the cliffs. The inevitable occurred and it cracked in half as it settled, now being propped up by massive and ugly buttresses. The fact that speculators were then recently allowed to build mansions upon these fragmented cliffs is another story to be explored later. Geological history may be a dry matter, but to ignore it is to find that the very wet matter of your having built your house at the end of a funnel valley where 'a once in a hundred year flood' explodes onto the plain! Hoteliers and the opposition party on the island Ibiza
Hoteliers and the opposition party on the island were calling for the Island Council to act fast after it was revealed, on Thursday, that Menorca had signed a three-year deal with TUI, Rewe, Thomas Cook and Cosmos-Monarch, to jointly promote the island. The deal, which will cost €9 million over three years, will see all of the companies increase flights, reduce prices and heavily promote Menorca within the British and German markets.
Payment of the €9 million will be split between the Balearic Government which will pay €4.5 million, Central Government which will pay €3 million, and the Island Council of Menorca, which will pay €1.5 million, with the aim to recoup 130,000 visitors to the island.
On hearing the news at the international tourist fair in Madrid (Fitur), the president of the Hotel Federation, Juanjo Riera, demanded the Island Council in Ibiza agree a similar strategy. He said the fall in visitor numbers announced the previous day (see below) now made the deal a necessity. He said it was not a case of whether the Island Council liked or disliked the system, but the simple fact there were now no other alternatives.
The contracts manager for Cosmos-Monarch, Hugh Morgan, said he wished both Mallorca and Ibiza would follow suit, and that for the last three years the Island Council in Menorca , had been supporting the tour operators, which was beginning to pay dividends.
However, the Island President, Xico Tarres, said Menorca was a special case, and they had been losing numbers for years. He said the latest figures showed Ibiza had been the least affected of all the Balearic Islands , and that the new short breaks programme announced earlier in the week, would ensure a 260 per cent increase in the number of visitors during the off-season, or 394,000 tourists over the next three years.
At the event the Balearic Minister for Tourism, Miquel Ferrer, announced Ibiza would be receiving a further €1.5 million to help market the island, money which all agreed was desperately needed.
Meanwhile the Balearic President, Francesc Antich, said at the event that he would be dedicating 2010 to getting tourism within the Balearics back on its feet, whilst calling on all of the administrations on the four islands to throw their weight behind the sector.
Just two days earlier the Balearic Government revealed the final passenger statistics from 2009, and they did not make easy reading. Ibiza and Formentera lost a total of 211,422 visitors over the year, which works out at 16.3 per cent fewer tourists. The figures produced by the National Bureau of Statistics (INE) also revealed that the number of hotel nights enjoyed by visitors was down a whopping 831,285 in the Pine Islands (9.51 per cent fewer than in 2008).
A total of 1,084,687 tourists visited the two islands last year, 311,241 of whom were Spanish and 773,446 foreign, with figures down for each month. However, June saw the biggest percentage change with a drop of 17.18 per cent from the previous year, followed by August (14.86 per cent) and July (13.13 per cent).
Meanwhile, the Balearic Hotel Federation continued the bad news revealing that hotel occupancy during 2009 had fallen below 66%, its lowest levels in over a decade. The report continued that 100 per cent of the hotels in Ibiza were only open in July and August, and that by October less than 65 per cent were still operating.
Despite this most of the tour operators were up-beat about the market for this summer. The majority claimed reservations were at the same levels as last year at this time, although holidays to Mallorca and Menorca were selling better.
Product manager, Manuel Morales, of Rewe, said that although bookings were, at the moment, on a par with last year, he expected to increase sales by eight per cent over the course of the year.
Hugh Morgan was slightly more optimistic, predicting his company would be increasing sales by 50 per cent in 2010.
